How did Flagler Estates Begin
How did Flagler Estates begin?
William F. Tilton owned Flagler Estates known as Gopher Ridge (Ten Thousand Acres).
He gave the land to his six sons it became known as The Six-T Ranch Corp. On July 8,
1969 they sold it to World Wide Development Company of Florida Corp. World Wide
cleared the land with the intention of farming.
Farming at that time was not financially feasible, so World Wide sold it to Florida General
equities who began the subdivision now known as Flagler Estates.
Now after almost 3 decades, the community has finally started to grow, with approximately 1500 residents in the Saint Johns County Section. The Open Rural Zoning, and low land prices make Flagler Estates very attractive to new home buyers and is one reason it is one of the Fastest Growing Areas in Saint Johns County Florida.
It is one of the few remaining areas in N.E. Florida which allows you to build a home on
your land, move a mobile home (or modular home) onto your property, you can have horses ducks and other such animals on your land, even put in a new Duck Pond if you wish.
