I make no personal attacks on anyone. An Agency or District if you will is NOT a person but an entity like a corporation. If such an entity (or Corporation) is NOT doing things properly and they have infringed upon/or done damage to someone's property through negligence, bad practices, or even illegal activities and procedures, it IS in all our due diligence to help ensure they correct such issues whether by contacting them about such things, or via legal procedures all American have by law and GOD.

If the District is trying to do better as you say, they certainly can not prove it by me.

All I know is that IF I were to go close to someone's property out here next to their well and dump tons of cow poop in the ditch until it gets all up in their well, I think I would have a serious problem with that landowner don't you?

A pediphile for example MAY SAY they are reformed, BUT; do you really want one coming on YOUR property? HOW would you know they are reformed and ready to do the right thing?

You would pretty much know it by their actions! I have no actions of the district telling me they even plan on stopping by my home to see WHAT I am talking about with damages! That tells me clearly, they are NOT reformed and are still passing the buck on to the homeowner and that is that.

Same ole Same Old and I will have none of it!

Yes, at one time many were dismayed on how the monies collected were being used.  And yes there was an organization formed to combat the mis use of funds.

But lately and I'm sure it's because of the holding accountable, there has been a real urge by the BOS to listen to the constituents in this district.  Whether it be self preservation or a real awakening doesn't matter.  It's getting done.  I will say personal attacks are not necessary; perseverence on law based complaints work.

Now that this is coming about everyone needs to step back and work together.  I myself see the need for unbiased cooperation between the residents and the ferw.  After all, we elect them and hire and fire them.  The experience that all have been through these last few years should be a real education for most.

If we don't learn from our history, it's bound to be repeated.

If there are still major issues to be solved and I'm sure there always will be, it would be in best interests to do it unemotionally and thoughtfully.  With due process given to all sides of the coin.

Such Special Districts are also generally allowed to levy Taxes against the residents within their district so that they may perform the function they were setup to serve for those residents. This tax is in addition to the County taxes levied against the residents.

One disputed advantage of such Special District's is that it takes some of the burden off of the County itself from having to Road, Water, and other issues in outlaying areas of the county directly by forming more localized ON SITE type Special Districts within these outlaying areas which are formed to deal directly with such issues.

The ideology behind this makes perfect sense IF IT IS FOLLOWED as Special District's which are on site within the community they serve can have a better grasp on what that community Needs, Wants, and what they can afford MUCH better than someone sitting in the County Courthouse.

Special District's may be considered an Extension of the County and as such they are also subject to the same Rules, Laws, and general good practices procedures in performing the job they were set in place to perform!

Here in Flagler Estates our Special District is the FERWCD and it certainly has not been following any sort of Best practices, rules, and have often disregarded laws as they pertain to the EPA, St johns river management district, and the Florida Sunshine Laws itself.

They are also often NOT responsive to residents complaints, or needs, and when the FERWCD causes Damage or infringements upon a residents property they seem to feel they are above the law and do NOT even need to address the issue at all period!

Now I know there is a LOT of that sort of thing going on across the country with government not being responsible to its constituents and I know that trying to get one Government agency to attempt a lawsuit or criminal suit against the other is very difficult indeed. It CAN however be done!

What I wish to proceed ahead with at this time is to gather as much information as is possible from other residents here in Flagler Estates regarding YOUR personal experiences with the FERWCD, your complaints and what the FERWCD did to resolve them and get it all put together for a formal complaint to be submitted to the states attorney's office and others.

I will use it along with other previous fillings of wrong doings which were already filled some time back to help build a legal case against the district.

The fact of the matter is that IF the district is being non responsive to those they were setup here to serve, perhaps the ONLY WAY to gain some respect from them is to SUE THEM for damages and once a Legal Case has been built against them, suing them in court for a Monetary award for YOUR damages just got a whole lot easier to pursue.

One person alone can NOT get much done when trying to make ANY government agency, or a Special District accountable for its illegal actions! It takes a group of people who are tired of all the BS and wish to make where they live an attractive place for others to move out here.

The FERWCD has NOT sent anyone over here to look at the problem, NOR contacted me back other than to insult me in my opinion regarding this matter. It would seem to be the same ole same old type of response so typical of the district in the past :(

With that in mind, it would seem the District WANTS me to sue them and to bring a criminal case against them to the states atorneys office. I suppose they believe they are immune to current laws, and to the civil courts!

Well, Maybe they are. Maybe they are not This is of course NOT something I want to do (never did), But; it is not only my right to do so under law, but it is my duty as an American to do so.

If nothing else, when I am done, I am pretty sure that the district WILL CHANGE it's tone regarding Flagler Estates residents complaints and take them seriously. I also believe they will quickly amend their ways with current trends to disregard current EPA, and River management Districts requirements and proper procedures under law.

     I am so impressed with this agency I thought it to be worth while to share with other Flagler Estates residents to promote them.  While many may not have a need for these services, it would behoove us as a community to share it with our neighbors.  Even if you do not own an animal, it would be beneficial to our neighborhood for those that would be willing to contribute to such a worthwhile cause.  Hopefully we can get something started for others later toward the middle of the year.  So here is my story of the day!

While searching different agencies in which to get three abandoned baby kittens fixed, I checked with the Palatka Humane Society Thrift Store to see if they had a recommendation I could pursue.  In talking with Karen that runs the store she referred me to the Palatka Society Animal Shelter at 386-325-1587.  Upon calling them I was told that it would cost me a whopping $20 each for a neuter AND a rabies shot, and a monetary donation to the animal food bank.

I was informed that I would take them to the "Park and Ride" at the intersection of State Road 207 and US 17 in Palatka for a biweekly pickup, at which time they would be transported to Jacksonville for the surgery and I would need to pick them up tonight (dropped them this morning).

In the meantime today I received a call regarding one of them, and learned that they also get a full physical exam, all for $20 each.  Come to find out one of the babies had a severe abscessed tooth, which they were not even sure they were going to be able to pull.  They asked if I could afford the additional $18 charge for the pain meds and antibiotics, which I had no problem with.  When I asked how much for the extraction, I was told that if I could afford to pay an additional $18 it would be appreciated.

These people were so compassionate and caring about the animals, it was not about the money.  They called me three times today once before the surgery, directly afterward to tell me the extraction was accomplished, and then to let me know that all 3 were awake and well.  After June this will be one of my new endeavors, to do everything in my power to support and help this agency. 

The program has been such a success that beginning next month, they will be making weekly trips for pick ups to the Park and Ride.  They offer all types of services for dogs and cats, charges vary but obviously you can not go wrong here.  What a absolute phenomenal experience!

Although members by default are allowed to place up to 2 free classifieds per month in the general classifieds section, Members by default will NOT have WYSIWYG editor access (you will be presented with a simple basic editor) for managing your content! PAID FOR services such as our various paid for classifieds/advertising options WILL have full WYSIWYG editor rights.

Further Forum Moderators, Article Columnist, News Columnist, our trained Ad Placer Specialist's, and other Special content writers at this site will also have full WYSIWYG editor access.

This Video was done using Windows Media Encoder. Anyone with a Windows computer can run these videos on their machines. Just Save the Video to your computer, bring up the file in your Windows Media Player to Run.. Here is the best way for you to proceed.

Searching and Finding other Members

There is a tool in the Members navigational menu named: Members search Tool . You can click on this link to bring up options to conduct a search for other members based upon certain Criteria such as:

• A members First and or Last name or partials of their name
• A members Hobbies and or Interests (if they have entered information in that field)
• A members Personal Notes (if they have entered information into that field)
• Members who have uploaded a Photo

This tool is available ONLY to registered members, and ONLY when you are logged into this site! Although the above Fields ARE searchable by other members, Fields YOU have opted to HIDE from other members will not have that information viewable to any other member except yourself.

This tool is an ADDITIVE type of search. This simply means that IF you type a Keyword into all the fields, then all the keywords you entered WILL be searched. Keep it simple and just select one of the fields for best results!

This is a useful tool to help members FIND other members who hold similar Interests such as maybe a Fishing Buddy, Hunting Buddy, Poker or other card game Buddy, etc, etc..  Since this site is pretty geographically oriented for our membership bases, as time goes on it is pretty likely you CAN FIND someone in YOUR area with similar interests

Our Online Bartering system WILL HELP YOU to survive when your dollar is worthless and the stores themselves are OUT of food to sell. IF on the other hand you are trading goods or services for other goods and services and money does NOT exchange hands you are NOT liable under law to pay ANYTHING to ANYONE...

When every dollar makes the difference in survival or NOT, does it not make sense to use what you already have at the bargaining table?

How to be productive in your searches for viewers and members alike at Flagler Estates news portal

Because this site is Modular in design, it makes it very easy for you to be productive in your searches for various content types within this site. Each module is actually independently searchable and categorized for quick accurate results (which saves YOU time).

For a Generic ALL module search, all you need do is type in your search term or terms and click on Search.. Just that easy Bear in mind words less than 4 charactors are NOT searchable (and, a, the, etc)

You MAY however get better and more accurate search results by clicking on the Enhanced Search icon per the example which will bring up the following type of screen for you to be more selective.

See in the example above that we have opted to search for the phrase Realty Listings and to be selective in which areas of our site we wish to search within so we have selected the Realty area of our site as an Exact Phrase. Now when we click on the Search button above, we will ONLY be searching for those EXACT word and ONLY within the Realty section of the site

This can save YOU TIME and be more productive for you overall.  You can broaden your search withn a module of course by opting to type in your Keywords/Phrase in some of the other fields other than the Exact Phrase field of course which will broaden out your possible search results a bit if you are unsure of just what the Exact Phrase should be.

You can also use this method to search JUST FOR all the postings, or Classifieds, Forums, or other, a MEMBER of this site has added by typing in their member name (if you know it).

How to best make Nice printouts of our Classifieds at Flagler Estates news and information web portal

Printing out web pages or even sections of a web site is not the same as doing print jobs from your word processor. The pages never seem to come out as you expect and even pages which LOOK like they would fit onto a single sheet of paper often do not.

Making single page printouts of Classifieds, Realty Listings, Job Postings, and other such content is important to your contents viewers. It is also important should you wish to POST your ads at local Bulletin Boards, as Hand Outs, or other such marketing methods as a 2 page spread simple does NOT CUT it with most people (and it is much more expensive for YOU to print as well).

We ASK OUR ad placers creating Classifieds at this site to create their ads in a certain fashion, and use Photos or images of a certain SIZE range not to be a PIA for them, but to HELP THEM as well as their ads viewers to make nice easy Printouts for more effective Marketing for your ad placements at our site..

Many Classifieds at this site simply will NOT FIT onto a single sheet of paper when printed regardless of how well the ad placer has followed our rules and guidelines. A lot of people do not know that for pages which are ONLY SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN A SINGLE SHEET OF PAPER, it is likely they can simply SCALE that page on down a little bit and it will still look very nice and WILL PRINT on a single sheet of paper.

Many people do have printers which make it easy for them to automatically SCALE a page DOWN a bit, many do NOT, still others MAY have such, but do not know how to use the feature. With all this in mind below is a way to do this task which should work for the majority of Internet viewers today of your classified ads within our system.

For the purposes of this short in line Tutorial on printing pages, we use one of our Sample Realty Listings I created to help our viewers SEE what they can do at this site. I use this as an example as it contains some 5 photos and a Virtual Tour so it will be one of the LARGER type Classifieds with all that in the ad.

Okay, first step of course is to bring UP the classified you are interested in making a print out of. In the example below once you are displaying the ad, you will wish to click on the little Printer Friendly icon such as shown below.....

NOW that you have clicked the printer friendly page icon, you will be on the well - Printer Friendly PAGE for that classified ad.

IF YOU KNOW that page is NOT going to print out on a single sheet of paper (and you need it to do so), simply select the File option along the left, then scroll on down the drop down list to Print Preview and select it.

Okay now we are in the Print Preview Screen as shown below...

This is an easy way to make YOUR classifieds FIT onto a single printed page (as long as the classified is NOT TOO LARGE). For ads which are very long, scaling the page down a bit will make it hard to read so keep em to the point, short, and relevant

The first thing to creating those neat Panning type Tours such as in realty listings and such is to get the photos you will need to use

Of course for use on the Internet it is best to use a Digital Camera which is set upon a Tripod for steady shots.

There is no real need for a Special type of digital camera... You will wish to set your camera to what is likely the lowest setting (IE: 800x600 pixels or somewhere in that range) if possible.  For a full 360⁰ view you are going to need about 12-14 photos in total.. EACH photo MUST OVER LAP by about 10%... If your photos do NOT overlap enough, the software used for Stitching the photos together
will NOT WORK properly..

You do NOT need to take your photos using some ridiculous settings such a 10 megabyte photos (they will not display at 10 megs online anyway).. the overalls display size will be reduced to some 320 pixels in width anyway so use a setting on your camera of say some 640 pixels in size or 800 pixels or even 1024 pixels (which is about the 2 meg setting) and it will be dandy

Leave your ZOOM lens ALONE and do NOT zoom in while taking your photos (set it before the first photo and LEAVE IT BE)...

NOW that you HAVE your photos taken properly, you need some sort of software to enable you to Stitch them all together into a Seamless .JPG image. There are lots of these available online. We have such ourselves and IF YOU GET the photos and get them done per the above, we can get it done FOR YOU (for $35.00 per).. We will also get these done and UPDATE your Realty Listings with such FOR YOU for that price with the tour included..

You MUST have followed the above advice however (we have done MANY of these) or the results you get will NOT be as you expect.. Use a Tripod, Center the Camera in the tripod, Level the Tripod within reason, shoot your photos one at a time with some 10% overlap for EVERY PHOTO (remember you will need about 12-14 photos total), Do NOT pan up and down just left to right or right to left, Keep everything as Steady as is possible and just shoot your photos

These types of panoramic views are nice and can give the viewer a bit more perspective on the overlay of how things really look when done properly.  As we indicate, there really is NO NEED for special Lenses, Cameras, or other.. Just do per the above, and your photos will come out fine for use in a Virtual Tour type panoramic..

We CAN do these for you but that is going to cost a few bucks of course (Travel time, etc).. We use Nikon Cameras which have a special Setting JUST for Panoramics (you do not need that but our cameras have it non the less).

You may also wish to do a VIDEO of your property/Car/Boat, etc... Video can contain AUDIO as well as you narrate along a virtual Walk around or live Demonstration. You can take your video, and upload it to YouTube, or your own website if you have a website, and simply make a call to the video from within your classified and it will work just dandy.

Popular VIdeo formats for the web are .MOV, WMV, and FLASH videos... We can also do these as well for your needs at $35.00 per hour which is about $50.00 per hour CHEAPER than most any other.
